I was always Taiwanese! Chinese and Taiwanese are basically the same, just different governments and different speaking in some places. Even then, its the same words just different pronunciation. Cantonese, Mandarin, etc. are basically just like the difference between how the British speak English, and how people on the west coast or deep south Speak English. It might be different sounding, but when you write down the words on paper they read exactly the same. Thats why when people ask my race its much easier to just say "Chinese" or "Asian." Nationality would be American if I was really being correct. >->
